Really good council helped me loads and areas are much better than previous iv lived in.
Dont drive on the roads unless you want your car destroyed! This council wont own up to their terrible and in parts non existent up keep of the roads and they employ a barely legal company named Gallagher Basset to deal with claims. I feel mugged by the council after paying my taxes to them and their destruction of my car through neglect of the roads. Followed by the Gallagher basset denial team who Im waiting to use these roads and destroy their cars. Im sure it will be a different story then. Final straw really, looking to move out of the area as I no longer want to pay taxes to this bunch of do nothings!
This is a really bad council. It's policies for low income and benefits claimants is deliberately making the poor homeless. I know now why there are so many beggars and homeless people in the county: rubbish policies and charging money that poor folks just don't have and will never have and what is worse, their policies keep the unemployed from gainful employment.Shockingly bad administration. They subcontract all their responsibilities that they can get away with to avoid dealing directly with social problems or responsibilities. Their trading standards department cannot be contacted by the public directly and has to be done through the charity, Citizen's Advice Bureau. Low income people are forced to pay 20% of their rent and council tax outof their meagre benefits. People cannot afford to earn less than 1400 a month in this district or else they will eventually end up homeless. Students are particularly hard hit because they only get 25% discount on council tax meaning they will pay 800 of their student loan to the council.
