If you want a traditional English Pub this is it. It's a Shane they changed the name from the "Forming Jug" which I thought head more impact but there is nothing wrong with the service or the setting: friendly people behind the bar, really interesting interior and a REAL open fire (no gas-effect here).

We have visited The Oaken Arms many times and always had a good experience but recently we booked a table for 3 for lunch 2 were celebrating birthdays. The service was prompt and good although there were only two staff who were extremely busy. When our meals arrived unfortunately they were cold, we had to send them back. The staff were very apologetic. New meals arrived which were hot.As a jesture of good will complimentary coffee would have been nice but this was not forthcoming which left us a little disappointed.
Lovely, warm & welcoming, pub/restaurant. The staff were friendly & helpful with our requests regarding the menu, food was delicious & reasonable price. We look forward to our next visit.
Beautiful meal. Great choice of drinks, and food was amazing! Prices very reasonable. Staff welcoming and attentive without being annoying. Perfect!
